This accessibility statement applies to the Vaccine Development Process Map

This website is run by the UKRI MRC Regulatory Support Centre, UKRI Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council and the Department of Health and Social Care. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. For example, that means you should be able to:
- change colours, contrast levels
- the text will reflow in a single column when you change the size of the browser window
- zoom in up to 300% without the text spilling off the screen
- navigate most of the website using just a keyboard

Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations
Images are used with headings in this site to display the route through the processes involved, some parts of the image are used as links to further content. This fails WCAG 2.1 success criterion 1.1.1 (non-text content).
This site contains links to pdf and word documents held on other websites and produced by other organisations. Some of these documents will not be accessible.
This currently fails WCAG 2.1 success criterion 1.3.1 (information and relationships).
Where these are not accessible we will work with our partners to try and provide these, or similar documents, in an accessible format on your request.
Navigation and accessing information
There’s no way to skip the repeated content in the page header (for example, a ‘skip to main content’ option).
Content that’s not within the scope of the accessibility regulations
PDFs and other documents
Many of our older PDFs and Word documents produced before 23 September 2018 do not meet accessibility standards - for example, they may not be structured so they’re accessible to a screen reader. This does not meet WCAG 2.1 success criterion 4.1.2 (name, role, value).
The accessibility regulations do not require us to fix PDFs or other documents published before 23 September 2018 if they’re not essential to providing our services.
Any new PDFs or Word documents we publish that belong to us will meet accessibility standards.
What we’re doing to improve accessibility
We have provided a list view of the map content as an alternative method for users to access content.
